Cabe aclarar que la imaginación para el diseño se cruza gacho con la imaginación para la programación. Así que nunca queda claro que rayos quería hacer tanto en uno como en otro campo.
Según esto en USA los promedios salariales para diseñadores están en rangos de $60,000 US dlls, algo así como $55,000 pesos mensuales.
Juar juar, eso no existe aquí. A lo mejor si quitamos un 0 de la formula.. es decir, un sueldo de $6,000 US dlls al año significa un sueldo mensual de $5,500.00 pesos. Eso ya se parece más a la realidad. A la triste realidad mexicana.
Sin embargo, comparado con la India, resulta que tenemos una posición privilegiada. Un salario de $5,500.00 pesos (aprox. Rs.20,000) resulta ser un salario decente. La oferta promedio anda en Rs.3000 a Rs.50000.
¿Y si bajamos nuestros precios y promovemos internacionalmente?
A lo mejor lo que nos ha fallado es el mercado.
LOL, what are you talking about!! The prices are not rising in India, they are dropping like sandbags as the competition gets tougher!! You have companies looking for programmers who know ASP, PHP, JSP, CSS, HTML & all the works, & paying between Rs.3000-5000/month!!! 
That's just ridiculous!! Every street kid says that he's a designer, when he can't even spell "design" correctly!! 
So the thing is that even though the companies know what kind of rodents these people are, if you turn up for an interview, they just say that they can get a decent designer/programmer for Rs.5000/month so why should they pay you Rs.20000/month!! The situation in most major cities in India is that if you've got a decent job, hold on to it!!
There seems to be a flood of placement companies as well who say that they have some opening with a big company or so & then it turns out that its not any big company & they are not paying more than 50-60% of what you quoted!! Time wasters!! 
Also, I've had some companies call me & they even dared to offer me a good job but start me off at a lesser pay that I currently get even after knowing what I'm being paid currently!!! 
Even as an owner of a web-development company you can't make more $$, not if you don't get govt. projects or the ones from big companies!! I've seen what kinda money is made in govt. projects, blatant corruption!! And design companies get away with a cheap website for some big companies & they take a King's Ransom for that, I've seen it from the inside!!
